Performance Schedule:

6:15 pm to 8:00 pm in the 2nd Floor Atrium: The Dayspring Vocal Ensemble
There will be a 15 minute intermission to stroll the galleries, visit the museum store, visit the holiday craft studio, or enjoy refreshments.
Overflow event parking is available at Trinity United Presbyterian Church and a shuttle bus provided by Rocker Limo Service will be running 5:00pm to 8:30pm.
Dayspring Vocal Ensemble is a professional-level sacred choral ensemble established by John McClain, Director of Worship and Music at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Ohio. The ensemble grew out of John's graduate studies and serves as an extension of the church’s music ministry beyond the traditional boundaries of the church.
Inspired by the line “O come thou Dayspring, come and cheer” from the beloved hymn O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, Dayspring Vocal Ensemble’s mission is to present high-quality sacred choral music that resonates widely. The ensemble strives to make its music accessible and engaging to all, offering sounds of hope and renewal to communities through the transformative power of sacred music.
John M. McClain is Director of Worship and Music at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, Ohio. After several rewarding years teaching high school choir, he followed a call into full-time church music and ministry. He approaches worship planning much like concert programming, shaping music, text, and reflection into a cohesive and collaborative narrative.
Living out Psalm 100 as a calling, John finds purpose in worship through music and in building community across generations, both within and beyond the worship space. His work focuses on strengthening congregational singing and cultivating joy, unity, connection, and beauty through communal song.
John regularly guest conducts the Westerville Symphony Orchestra’s Messiah Community Sing-Along, which draws audiences of nearly 1,000, and performs professionally with choral ensembles across the country. He also serves on the Ohio Choral Directors Association board as Lifelong Singing/Music in Worship Repertoire and Resources Chair.
John holds a Master of Music degree in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College, in addition to a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Capital University Conservatory of Music, where he studied under and was greatly influenced by renowned conductor and educator Dr. Lynda Hasseler.
Tiffany Jones is a dedicated and accomplished harpist with an extensive performing background. Currently, with over 28 years of experience, and more than 650 weddings performed, she holds the position of Columbus' most sought after full-time professional harpist for weddings and events. She also plays regularly for receptions, dinner parties, orchestras, corporate events, funerals, churches, and more!
