Summer Art Camp
Adventures in Clay
Ages 10 to 14
Celebrate creativity and tradition at Adventures in Clay, a special 6-day summer camp at the ZMA as it marks its 90th anniversary! Designed for young artists ready to get their hands dirty, this immersive camp explores the art of ceramics through both hand building and wheel throwing. Campers will pinch, coil, slab, and sculpt unique creations, then take a spin at the pottery wheel to craft functional and decorative pieces of their own. Inspired by the region’s rich clay heritage and the museum’s nine decades of artistic excellence, participants will connect past and present while building skills, confidence, and creativity. Join us as we celebrate 90 years of art by shaping the next generation of makers—one piece of clay at a time!
Your creations will dry over the following weeks and be fired by ZMA staff. Return to the ZMA on July 10, 1:30–4:30pm* to finish your pieces with a wide variety of colorful glazes.
All supplies and a light snack are provided.
Monday– Friday, June 1–5, 1:30–4:30pm AND Friday, July 10, 1:30–4:30pm* at the ZMA.
$145 for members
