Exhibition Information

The Muskingum County K–12 Student Art Exhibition will be on view at the Zanesville Museum of Art from April 21 to May 11, 2024.

The exhibition opening is Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 12–2pm, with the awards ceremony at 1pm.

This show is open to all K–12 students in Muskingum County including public school students, private school students, homeschool students, and students who take community or private art lessons.

This year, the ZMA and the City of Zanesville Mayor’s Office will honor student artistic achievement by awarding ten outstanding works of art from elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school categories the museum’s Avant-Garde Award. Award recipients will receive a fifty-dollar prize presented at the exhibition opening.

The ZMA is excited to welcome Chiquita Mullins Lee as this year’s guest juror for the 2024 K-12 Student Art Exhibition. Chiquita Mullins Lee is an Arts Learning coordinator at the Ohio Arts Council where she coordinates the Arts Partnership, and Big Yellow School Bus grant programs that support quality arts experiences with an educational focus. She coordinates Ohio’s Poetry Out Loud program that engages high school students in poetry recitation. Chiquita has served as the chair and Mid-West regional coordinator for the Arts Education Working Group, in association with the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and has served on the Arts Education review panel for the National Endowment for the Arts.
