Key Dates and Information for Artists

Wednesday, May 14 - Acceptance notifications sent via email to applicants.

Tuesday, May 27 - Postmark shipping deadline for artwork.

  • Artists are responsible for the transit of artwork to and from the ZMA.

Shipping your work to the ZMA

  • A return shipping label must be included in the shipping box covering full shipping charges.

  • COD shipments will not be accepted.

  • Shipped artworks must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

  • An email will be sent to the artist’s email on file in the CaFE application confirming delivery. Please allow 24 hours for the delivery confirmation email.

  • Email any delivery questions to exhibitions@zanesvilleart.org.


Friday–Sunday, May 30–June 1 - Dates for hand-delivered artwork drop off to the Zanesville Museum of Art.

Artists are responsible for the transit of artwork to and from the ZMA.

Saturday, September 13 - 79th Ohio Annual Exhibition closes.

Saturday–Sunday, September 13–14 - Dates for hand-delivered artwork pick up at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

Artwork Pickup:
Saturday, September 13, 5:30–7 pm
Sunday, September 14, 12–5pm

Tuesday, September 16 - Artwork shipped to those artists who shipped their work to the ZMA.

Additional Important Information

  • Two-dimensional submissions must come framed and ready to hang with D-rings.

    • Please note, we will not hang artwork from wire, only D-Rings.

  • Upon delivery, all artworks must be dry and in stable condition.

  • Please attach a label with your last name, first name, and artwork title (for example: Kappes, Karl, Evening Landscape) to the bottom of a three-dimensional work or to the lower right back section of a two-dimensional work.

  • The ZMA is not liable for any damage or loss incurred in transit. Settlement for any artworks damaged in transit will be the responsibility of the artist and shipper. All artwork must be picked up Saturday, September 13 from 5:30 to 7pm, and Sunday, September 14, from 12 to 5 pm.

    • Please note, no artwork may be picked up earlier than 5:30pm, Saturday, September 13, 2025.

  • Artworks shipped to the ZMA will be shipped back to the artist using the enclosed shipping label. To inquire about shipping arrangements, please email exhibitions@zanesvilleart.org. The artist must notify the ZMA in writing to authorize another party to pick up their artwork.

Where do I park at the ZMA during drop off?

  • Enter the ZMA parking lot off Military Rd. nearest the large orange mailbox on the east side of the building.

  • Park at the farthest end of the parking lot, the south end, near the metal pergola doors.

    • There will be a sign directing artists to the two metal doors.

    • A ZMA staff member will be available to welcome you and assist as needed with artwork.

Where do I go to drop off my artwork inside the ZMA?

  • Enter the metal pergola doors into the Shirley Gorsuch Gallery

  • Take the freight elevator, located on the right side of the gallery, to the Great Gallery by pressing 2R

  • The elevator opens into the Great Gallery

  • A ZMA staff member will be available to welcome and check in each artist

  • The drop-off process should take about 15 minutes

  • Each artist or the person dropping off artwork will need to:

    • Sign in duplicate a set of documents for each work of art. They include:

      • A Condition Report

      • Incoming Receipt

      • Loan Agreement

    •  Confirm that the information on file with the ZMA is correct

FAQs

1.    Can someone else drop of my artwork?

Yes, you may have someone else drop off your artwork. They will need to sign the loan agreement, condition report, and incoming receipt on your behalf.

2.    Can I choose not to sell my work?

Yes. At the time of drop off, please indicate that your work is NFS.

3.    If my work sells during the exhibition at the ZMA, when do I receive payment for it?

For those works of art that sell during the ZMA exhibition, checks will be mailed to artists two weeks after the exhibition closes.

4.    If my work sells at the exhibition at the ZMA, do I still need to pick it up?

If your works sells at the exhibition at the ZMA, you may choose to deliver the work to the purchaser, arrange to have the work shipped to the purchaser at your own expense, or have the purchaser pick the work up at the ZMA. The ZMA will call and email artists whose work has sold to make arrangements.

5.    How can I download a digital invitation to the opening to email to friends, family, and followers?
