An example of Rookwood Pottery Company (1880-1967) Limoges, sometimes called Cincinnati Limoges after its French counterpart, this decorative glaze treatment was first introduced in 1880 and discontinued in 1885. Limoges is Rookwood's earliest example of underglaze slip decoration and was strongly influenced by Japanese imagery and design.
