Welcome to the Zanesville Museum of Art. Whether you're a first-time museum visitor or a life-long member of the ZMA, here are some tips to help you make the most of your visit.
When you arrive...
Please visit the first floor visitor services desk to pick up a museum map, pay for museum admission if you are a non-member, inquire about a ZMA membership, or find out about special adult and children’s programs, please feel free to sign in and register to be placed on our email list.
A visitor services specialist will ask you to check backpacks, umbrellas, shopping bags, or any bag larger than 11 x 15 x 6 inches. These items are not permitted in the galleries.
Complimentary coat check is available at the first floor visitor services desk.
During your visit…
Even the lightest touch can damage paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture. Please do not touch (even the most intriguing) work of art. Your great-grandchildren will thank you.
A drinking fountain is located on the first and second floor of the museum. We do not allow food or drink in the galleries during general admission hours.
Photography is permitted for personal, noncommercial use except where indicated. Flash photography, videography and the use of tripods are not permitted. Please ask at the visitor service desk to find out more about our photography policies. Photography must be conducted without disruption to museum operations or limitation to the accessibility of exhibitions, entrances, exits, doorways, and high traffic areas.
As a courtesy to other guests, please take cell phone calls outside the museum.
The ZMA is a child-friendly place. Strollers may be used throughout the museum. Please supervise all aspiring child artists while visiting the museum.
We strive to be accessible to all our museum guests. We have two elevators that access all three floors and, should it be needed, the ZMA has two wheelchairs that may be used during your visit.
Feeling inspired by the art? Feel free to sketch with pencil in notebooks 11 x 14 inches or smaller. Colored pencils and ink pens are not allowed in the galleries, except during designated classes and in designated areas.
