Key Dates and Information for Artists

April 12
Online application deadline. Entry form, images, and fee due by entered. 

May 10
Notifications sent by email to applicants.

June 8
Postmark shipping or delivery deadline for artwork. All work should be delivered to Zanesville Museum of Art, 620 Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Hand-delivered work will be accepted from 10 am–3 pm or by pre-arranged appointment. Please call (740) 452-0741, ext. 214. No artwork will be accepted later than June 8th, 2019.

June 20
Exhibition opening 5:30–7:30pm. Award ceremony at 6 pm.

September 7
Exhibition closes.

September 9
Artwork pickup at the ZMA or by pre-arranged appointment. Artwork must be picked up no later than September 20th.

Sales and Insurance

Artwork should be eligible for sale. The ZMA will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sold from this exhibition. Prices of accepted works may not change and all artwork for sale will be insured at that value. Artwork that is not for sale must be marked NFS on the entry form and an insurance value not exceeding fair market value must be provided.

Preparation

Two-dimensional submissions must come framed and ready to hang with D-rings and wire. Upon delivery, all artwork must be dry and in stable condition. Please attach a label with your last name, first name, and artwork title (for example: Cope, Leslie, Evening Landscape) to the bottom of a three-dimensional work or to the lower right back section of a two-dimensional work.

Delivery and Pick Up

  • Artists are responsible for the transit of artwork to and from the ZMA.

  • A return label must be included in the shipping box covering full shipping charges.

  • COD shipments will not be accepted.

  • Shipped artworks must be received at the ZMA no later than 5 pm, Friday, June 7, 2019.

  • Hand-delivered artworks will be accepted at the ZMA, 620 Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio from 10 am–3 pm, Saturday, June 8, 2018 or by prearranged appointment.

  • The ZMA is not liable for any damage or loss incurred in transit.

  • Settlement for any artworks damaged in transit will be the responsibility of the artist and shipper.

  • All work must be picked up within two weeks of the exhibition closing.

  • The artist must notify the ZMA in writing to authorize another party to pick up their artwork. 

Awards

The ZMA’s Executive Director and the 74th Ohio Annual Exhibition juror, Scot Philips, will present the cash prizes and awards during the exhibition opening Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 6 pm. All award and prize decisions are final and at the discretion of the museum and exhibition juror.

  • The Best of Show award recipient will receive $1,000

  • The Janice Ballas Excellence in Fiber Arts award recipient will receive $250.

  • Awards and prizes of $100 will be presented in
