Dear Museum Guest,

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Zanesville Museum of Art. For 80 years, the ZMA has been an important part of Zanesville’s cultural landscape offering vibrant adult and children’s programs, an encyclopedic collection of more than 8,000 works spanning 5,000 years, thought-provoking exhibitions, and much more. All of this is due, in large part, to the outstanding support of our community. We are most grateful for the generosity of our members, donors, and guests, both past and present.

The Zanesville Museum of Art flourished in 2016. We celebrated our 80th anniversary, welcomed guests from all over the world to view our exciting suite of exhibitions, reinstalled two galleries, and featured even more works of art from collection storage in those spaces. We continued to strengthen our financial position last year and received nearly a quarter of the museum’s annual budget in grants to support outreach programs and new initiatives. We look forward to 2017, which I hope will bring even more interesting opportunities to the ZMA.

This month, the museum will begin strategic planning, having just completed the year-long Small Museum Accreditation Academy in 2016 sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums. As we examine our institutional goals, set new priorities, and refine mission-driven programs and activities, one thing remains constant—our members. You are the cornerstone of this institution. Thank you for your ongoing support.

We are offering new and innovative ways to flex your creative muscle with an exciting range of free adult and children’s programs including summer art camp, generously sponsored by grants from the Taylor-McHenry Memorial Fund.

We welcome guests to the ZMA Wednesday through Saturday and hope our dynamic and enriching experiences onsite and online ignite your creative imagination.

I hope to see you soon at the ZMA.
