Gallery Changes, As of Thursday, February 14, 2019:
Great Gallery: Exhibition Opening Thursday, February 14, 2019 for Catching the Light: American Impressionist Paintings from the Cincinnati Art Galleries.
Straker and Mast Galleries, 2nd floor: The pottery has been removed. This was deinstalled to make way for the Concert at the Museum event and the Under the Sea event.
Straker Gallery, 2nd floor: A new installation is in the works. The ZMA has accessioned three pieces of gorgeous glass donated by Mr. and Mrs. Terrible. I believe the glass will be going out in April 2019.
Arts of Ohio Galleries, 3rd floor: The Abel G. Warshawsky painting, Spring in France, 1911 has been removed from the Arts of Ohio Galleries. It is now located in the Great Gallery, the first work in Catching the Light: American Impressionist Paintings from the Cincinnati Art Galleries.
2nd Floor Hallway Gallery: The Karl Kappes painting XXXXX, n.d., has been removed. It is now located in the Great Gallery, the first work in Catching the Light: American Impressionist Paintings from the Cincinnati Art Galleries.
2nd Floor Hallway Gallery: XXXX painting from the Cincinnati Art Galleries is on temporary view through March 30, 2019.
3rd Floor Gallery: The location of the painting by Paul Emory, Courthouse with Pigeon, 2009, oil on canvas, 2014.002.001 Ayers Collection Fund Purchase and the watercolor by Walter Chapman, Harry’s Army Surplus, 1981, watercolor, 1982.15047 have been swapped. Both works remain on view in the 3rd floor gallery, just in new locations. This transition was made to allow for new Arts of Ohio wayfinding vinyl to be installed in the hallway.
