When you arrive...

Check In
Visit the first floor visitor services desk to check in, make a donation, inquire about a ZMA membership, or to be placed on our email list.

Admission
Admission to the ZMA is free. Please help us sustain free admission and make a donation when you visit.

During your visit

Coats, Bags, and Umbrellas
A visitor services specialist will ask you to check coats, backpacks, umbrellas, shopping bags, or any bag larger than 11 x 15 x 6 inches. These items are not permitted in the galleries.

Gallery Closures

Second floor Great Gallery

Restrooms
The ZMA has handicap accessible public restrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors that include baby changing tables.

Please Don’t Touch the Artwork
Even the lightest touch can damage paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture. Please do not touch (even the most intriguing) work of art. Your great-grandchildren will thank you.

Food and Beverages
While food and beverages are not allowed in the galleries during general admission hours, the ZMA has three drinking fountains located on the first, second, and third floors of the museum.

Photography
Photography is permitted for personal, noncommercial use except where indicated. Flash photography, videography and the use of tripods are not permitted.  Please ask at the visitor service desk to find out more about our photography policies. Photography must be conducted without disruption to museum operations or limitation to the accessibility of exhibitions, entrances, exits, doorways, and high traffic areas.

Accessibility
The ZMA is a child-friendly place. Strollers may be used throughout the museum. Please supervise all aspiring child artists while visiting the museum.

We strive to be accessible to all our museum guests. We have two elevators that access all three floors and, should it be needed, the ZMA has two wheelchairs that may be used during your visit.

Sketching in the Galleries
Feeling inspired by the art? Feel free to sketch with pencil in notebooks 11 x 14 inches or smaller. Colored pencils and ink pens are not allowed in the galleries, except during designated classes and in designated areas.
